Namely’s 2019 Workplace Diversity Report explores whether organisations nowadays are satisfying diversity and inclusion requirements. Data from the report was gathered through Namely’s database of 250,000 professionals from all US states.

Main findings from this report include:

  • More than 60% of workers in manufacturing, transportation or technologies are men. On the other hand, a majority of the workforce in healthcare or nonprofit sectors are women. Financial services, Media, Professional Services and Real estate are industries with the most equal number so men and women in the workforce.
  • White workers account for the majority of the healthcare workforce, while most workers in transportation and logistics are Asian people. The most ethnically diverse industries include technology, professional services and nonprofit.
  • Most organisations still don’t allow their employees to choose their preferred gender pronouns,
  • $0.76 is the amount women earned compared to men if organizational ranking is not taken into consideration, while $0.92 is how much they earn if tiers and rank are considered. The smallest gender and ethnicity pay gaps can be found in nonprofit and retail organisations, where half of the highest salary workers are women.
  • Even among the most diverse organisations, 95% of them don’t have an executive diversity or HR leader.
  • 70% of managers are white and only 37% of them are women.
