The Experience 2020 Report: Digital Employee Experience Today – Nexthink

The Nexthink’s Digital Employee Experience Today Report discovers the challenges in digital experience that a majority of employees are dealing with recently. Data from this report were gathered from more than 1,000 IT professionals and 2,000 non-IT employees.

Some main findings from this report include:

  • More than 80% of companies considered Digital Employee Experience as very important or critical to their organizations.
  • It is expected by a majority of employees that their organizations will put more effort to improve their digital experience.
  • IT teams are only able to measure about half of the impacts of the new technology launched and how it affects employee experience.
  • More than 60% of employees think of IT issues at work as common
  • Half of surveyed employees only report half of the IT issues they had at work.
  • More than 60% of employees reported having contacted IT teams about their issues.
  • Nearly 80% of employees believed that unreported IT issues would lead to more serious problems.
  • On average, IT professionals said technical issues stop employees from getting their job done for about 24 minutes. However, employees reported that their job will be delayed for about 28 minutes due to technical error.
  • More than 60% of surveyed IT professionals believed that innovation programs at their organization have been successful. On the other hand, only 40% of employees thought the same.
  • It is agreed by most respondents that IT introduction and innovation processes need to be improved.
  • The amount of time needed to fix bugs; new technology rollout across the organisation is inconsistent and the lack of new tech training were the top difficulties for employees
  • Old and new system integration; existing bugs and errors and the incompetency of employees using new technology were the top challenges for IT team members.
  • IT teams thought that 25% of employees were happy with their digital experience. In fact, less than 20% of employees considered the experience as completely satisfying.
