Performance Management Report 2022 – Clear Review

Clear Review’s Performance Management Report 2022 studies how organizations have been managing their people during the challenging times of the Covid pandemic and remote working. Data from this survey was collected from more than 1,000 professionals in the UK and USA.

Some key findings from this report include:

  • More than 60% of HR Executives claimed that the process for performance management has been moved to the back burner in the last year.
  • Most HR managers agreed that Productivity and Engagement are the focused area of their performance management program, while the focus on Development has decreased to 31% compared to 47% the year before.
  • More than half of the survey respondents indicated that Performance Management is their high priority this year, while about one-third of them said they planned to work on this but it’s not a priority for the year.
  • A majority of professionals agreed that employee burnout is the main challenge that they need to work on with their Performance Management program and most managers claimed to be well equipped to identify the unengaged members of their team and are confident to be able to support them.
  • However, nearly half of the surveyed employees reported not having support from managers to overcome burnout and stress and they are ready to change jobs to have better support for stress and burnout.
  • While HR executives are confident that the productivity of remote employees is mostly the same as when they were working in the office, only around 60% of managers agreed and just over half of surveyed employees felt the same.
  • It’s evident from the data that performance reviews are not being done regularly by most organizations with over 30% of employees having performance reviews once a year or less. On the other hand, most managers thought they have performance-based conversations with their team quite often.
