Wrike worked together with Atomik Research to complete this survey on 4,000 employees in the UK, France, Germany and the U.S to reveal the truth behind what makes employees really thrive.
Some main findings from this survey include:
- The happiest staff rank management and leadership below “flexible hours” and “company culture” as the top factors affecting workplace happiness. Even the unhappiest staff rank it below “compensation” and “doing meaningful work”
- Happy workers are 30% more likely than unhappy workers to say their office diversity is “above average”
- Most of the happiest staff all rank “doing meaningful work” as the most important factor for workplace happiness, over both “compensation” and “flexible hours”. The only exception is in France, where “compensation” is ranked higher than “meaningful work” only by 3%.
- Despite the changes in the layout of the workspaces to improve physical closeness, only 45% of employees think positively about collaboration.
- In the United States, users of collaborative work management software are more likely to “love” collaborating with members of their remote team and agree that technology makes it easy, compared to non-users.
- Time and money are more important than forced bonding to happy workers. For a job well done, most happy employees would prefer a $50 gift card as a reward, except in Germany, where they would choose to leave work early.
- The majority of happy employees cite high productivity, especially in the United States.
- Most happy staff in all regions claim they “always” know their priorities at the start of their workdays.
